About OBDwiki

OBDwiki reads a set of fault codes together instead of one at a time, and tries to say — in plain English — what's actually wrong with your car.

What it does

Most fault-code sites look up codes one at a time, which is how someone ends up buying five parts to fix one problem. OBDwiki reads your whole set of codes together, ranks the likely causes, and names the one test that rules out the most for the least money.

How it works

Every answer you see comes from deterministic rules and reviewed, pre-written text — never from an AI model answering live while you wait.

AI is used behind the scenes, offline, to help write and check content and to help build the software itself. It never generates what's shown on the page in front of you.

Where it's up to

Most fault codes don't have a plain-English write-up published yet — every one is checked by a person before it goes live, and that work is still under way.

What already works today: identifying your car and reading a set of fault codes together. You can also see which codes are published so far.

Who's building it

Company details for OBDwiki will be published here once they're finalised.
