Terms of use
Short, on purpose. This is what using OBDwiki actually means today.
What this site is
OBDwiki is a guide, not a mechanic. It helps you understand fault codes and points you towards the most likely cause and the cheapest test to rule it in or out. It doesn't replace a qualified mechanic's own diagnosis of the vehicle in front of them, and it never gives you steps for a job we've marked as garage-only. See the Safety notice.
No warranty
We measure the accuracy of the write-ups we publish and aim for at least 98% correct, but we don't guarantee any individual answer is right for your car. Use your own judgement, and stop if anything feels wrong.
Using the site
The tools on OBDwiki are free to use today. No account is required for anything that currently works.
The legal bit
The company operating OBDwiki, its registered details and the governing law of these terms will be added here once they're finalised.
Changes
These terms may change as the site grows. This page always shows the version that applies right now.
