OBDwiki is a guide, not a mechanic
Everything on this site is general information about what a fault code usually means. It isn't a diagnosis of your specific car, and it isn't a substitute for a qualified mechanic looking at the vehicle in front of them.
Garage-only jobs never get steps
Some jobs — brakes, airbags, high-pressure fuel, timing belts, the high-voltage battery and wiring on an EV or hybrid, and anything else we've marked garage-only — are never given as a step-by-step. We'll tell you what it likely is, roughly what it should cost, and the questions to ask, but never how to do it yourself. That line doesn't move, whatever you ask.
High voltage gets treated with extra caution on any car that has it: on an EV or hybrid, the high-voltage battery, inverter and charging system are always garage-only, whatever the fault turns out to be — that's lethal voltage, not a job for confidence.
If in doubt, stop
If anything about your car doesn't feel right — a pedal that feels different, a smell, a noise that's new — stop and ask a professional rather than carry on because a page told you it was probably fine.
Driving guidance is guidance
Where we say a car is safe to drive, fine for short trips only, or that you should stop driving, that's guidance based on the codes you gave us — not a substitute for your own judgement about the car in front of you. If it ever feels worse than the page says, trust what you feel.
